I never really saw myself as a technology person. I think it has happened out of necessity. Going to school everything is transiting to computer based work. I was always able to figure out what I needed to do but was not the type of person who could spend all day on the computer. I am learning to like the computer though. I have always been a PC person but I am thinking that I might be a mac person after this class. I bought the I-Phone and love it. Currently I am running the '07 version of windows which I hated at first. Now that I am learning how it works I am starting to like it. The more I use it the more I will like it.
One part of the mission statement that really stood out to me was teaching to a diverse group of kids. Knowing the I am going to be teaching to a diverse group of students make me think about how I am going to teach each of them so they understand the material. Hopefully I will be an equal and fair teacher no matter a child's background. That is why I find the information being taught at Cal State is so vital.
I can only imagine how much of an experience Colorado was for you during your undergrad. You went for a big leap in change, which is admirable. Colorado is very different from California in regards to WEATHER, people, entertainment, outdoor activities and lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteIt was probably a good idea to not actually visit Colorado State before you went! I, too, tend to not stray far from home, and I can't imagine how daunting it would be to go to school that far away.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I feel kinda funny typing this right now, since you're sitting right next to me. =)
I have always wanted to visit Colorado! I went to college so close to home... How brave to go without even seeing the college!!? Good for you! p.s your self-portrait is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLike everybody else said, you are really brave to have gone to CSU without seeing it first! I can't imagine not having visited my school before I moved - I'm way too much of a planner for that. That said, you lucked out because Fort Collins is a really cool place. I had lacrosse games there a few times in college and my team and I always joked about skipping our flight home and just moving there:)
